Near Death Experiences Abreviated NDEs
As you may have heard, literally thousands of people
have had experiences when they were near death or even clinicaly dead.
After being revived they report having an out of body experience that
involved seeing a bright light or deceased loved ones. Some say that
they saw their earthly bodies being worked on by doctors and/or views
of their past experiences. These have been called near death experiences
or NDEs. There is much material available on the subject. Dr. Raymond Moody is considered by many as the grandfather of the research on near death experiences, which have, over the years picked up the abbreviation NDE's. His first book Life After Life by Dr. Raymond Moody written in 1975 was one of the first where the subject of NDEs was studied and written about by a member of the medical profession. Dr. Moody, in this book, courageously published his work opening himself up to ridicule by most medical professionals. Most doctors, at that time (1975), considered NDE's to be fictional or hallucinations. Since then Dr. Moody has published several other books. Many other studies on the subject of NDEs by medical pros have been published. Many scientists have now acknowledged the reality of NDE's and some admit that our spirits or souls live on beyond the death of our earthly bodies. There are literally thousands of persons that have experienced NDE's in recent years primarily due to the modern methods of resuscitation that have become available. Also, the concept of life after death has been written about and accepted by many different cultures and religions all over the world since before recorded history. The International Association for Near-Death Studies and the Near Death Experience Research Foundation are two organizations that have been established to further the work on the subject of Near Death Experiences. There are literally thousands of personal testimonials on the matter. In 2012 Dr. Eben Alexander published a book about his personal Near Death Experience. Eben Alexander M.D. has been a well known neuroscientist and neurosurgeon for the last 25 years. He graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1976 with a major in chemistry. Dr. Alexander earned his M. D. at Duke University Medical School in 1980. After competing a fellowship in cerebrovascular neurosurgeon in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in England he spent 15 years on the faculty of Harvard Medical School as an associate professor of surgery, with a specialization in neurosurgery. On November 10, 2008 Dr. Alexander fell victim to a very rare and severe case of E. coli bacterial meningitis. He went into a 7 day coma during which he had his Near Death Experience. His Doctor Scott Wade M. D. confirmed the diagnosis as gram-negative bacterial meningitis and stated publicly the Eben's chance of surviving the illness was about 10%. He also pointed out that after 6 days in a coma Dr. Alexander's chance of living faded to 3%. Dr. Eben Alexander has made a full recovery and has published a number 1 New York Times best selling book titled Proof Of Heaven by Dr. Eben Alexander. In his book he fully describes his NDE. He also (in his book) testifies to the existence of God and tells of his conversion from a non-believer to a firm believer in NDEs and the existence of Heaven and life after death.
